POLE AT PLAY'S
SAFETY PLAy
COVID-19
In order for Pole at Play to reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to make some temporary changes to our schedule, classes, policies and procedures. Below is a list of those changes that effect our students. Some of these may change as the impacts of reopening are fully realized. We will update this info as needed.
-
The studio will officially reopen and Pole at Play classes will resume on Monday June 15th.
-
Students who are considered at high risk of suffering serious illness from COVID-19 are not permitted to return to classes in phase 2. This includes anyone who is immunocompromised, age 65 and older, or any age with one of the following underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled:
-
Chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
-
Serious heart conditions
-
Diabetes
-
Chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis
-
Liver disease
-
-
In phase 2, class sizes are limited to 5 students max. This means you don't have to share a pole for the time being (yay!) In order to accommodate as many of our students as possible with class sizes being so limited, classes will be one hour long. Students will be getting the same amount of time on the pole as before since everyone will have a pole to themselves for the duration of class.
-
In Phase 3, class size and time length will increase. Starting July 9th, Thursday and Friday classes will accommodate 8 students per class and will be 2 hours long.
-
Students must bring their own water bottle, which can be filled at the studio.
-
Students will be asked to self screen before entering the studio. You must not enter the studio if:
-
You have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have not recovered or are still in the 14 day quarantine period.
-
You have had any symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
-
You have been exposed to someone who has or is suspected of having COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
-
-
Each student must sanitize their hands at the hand sanitizing station to the right of the front door as they enter the studio and again before entering the pole room.
-
Students must arrive to class wearing their warm-up clothes. Use of the dressing rooms will be limited to hand washing and accessing the bathroom. Many of us change into more pole appropriate attire after warming up and you may continue to do so. Just wear your pole clothes under your warm-up clothes.
-
Students will be asked to sign a waiver acknowledging the risks associated with attending fitness classes amid a pandemic and agreeing to adhere to our reopening policies.
-
Students will be asked to submit to a no contact temperature reading to ensure they do not have a fever.
-
Students will put their personal belongings either on one of the Pilates reformers or along the wall at the front of the studio, ensuring that there is 6 feet between each student's belongings. There will be markers on the floor indicating where you may keep your belongings for the duration of class.
-
Students are required by state mandate to wear masks when entering the studio. Once arriving to your initial physically-distanced area with your mat, you can then remove the mask or facial covering, place it into a paper bag, and keep it isolated with your personal items throughout class. Your mask should be reapplied while using other areas of the studio (i.e. bathrooms), and reapplied while exiting the studio after class.
-
Students and instructors must maintain 6 feet of social distancing while in the studio and lobby before, during, and after class. Moves that require spotting will be avoided during phase 2 & 3.
-
Students must disinfect their mat, ball, pole and any other equipment they used during class immediately following use.
-
In phase 3, students must disinfect the pole they are sharing both before use and before passing it to their pole partner.
-
In phase 3, when class sizes increase, strudents must maintain 6 feet of social distancing during class. There will be markers on the floor indicating where students can stand while waiting their turn on the pole.
-
Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own knee pads and heels. If they are unable to do so, we will continue to offer loaner heels and knee pads and will be sanitizing/disinfecting them after every class.
-
We will be cleaning and disinfecting the studio and all equipment before and after each class as well as deep cleaning/sanitizing every night following the last class of the evening.
